BONSAI!

Time for another check-in. Did you miss me?

Behold... my stuff
Behold... my stuff
Gen Con was a great time, as always. Played a lot of games, bought a lot of games, had a great time. Somehow I've never played Clank! Now it's one of my new favorites. Also, they had set up what they called a "Quiet room", with dim lights where you could just chill. They had a solo game set up called "A gentle rain", which is one of the most relaxing games you can find. I highly recommend it.

Post con things have been somewhat quiet. There was an adventure in pewter casting, but that may be its own post sometime in the future. It's still something of a work in progress.

Most of my attention lately has been focused on attempting to grow a bonsai from seed. I purchased a kit which had several seeds and starter soil, etc. In the end, only one type really got going. a Royal Poinciana. As of this picture, it's almost 2 months old. And as someone who possesses the opposite of a green thumb, it's been a challenge.

However, I'm happy to say that I may have figured out this whole plant dad thing! The Royal Poinciana thrives in a warm climate. As such, I've had to bring it inside. It enjoys the days under a TS600 Mars Hydro grow light, and I picked up a moisture meter to make sure I was only watering it when it was needed. Some would say "just stick your finger in the soil and see if it's dry." ...OK, Jan.

The next grand adventure will be to undisclosed locations for my wife's birthday next month. I've got a few things planned, and maybe that'll be the next update.

(I should really keep this more up to date).

See you for the next one!
